The working principle of the solar water heater with power standby is as follows:
1. Solar heating stage
When there is sunlight, the collector of the solar water heater starts to work. The collector is usually composed of a vacuum tube or a flat plate collector.
Evacuated tube collector: There is a selective absorption coating inside the vacuum tube, which can efficiently absorb the energy of sunlight. The sunlight passes through the outer glass of the vacuum tube and shines on the absorption coating of the inner layer. The coating converts solar energy into heat energy, causing the temperature inside the vacuum tube to rise rapidly. There is usually water or heat transfer medium in the vacuum tube. The temperature of the water or heat transfer medium rises after absorbing heat.
Flat plate collector: The flat plate collector is composed of a heat absorbing plate, a transparent cover plate, an insulation layer, etc. Sunlight shines on the heat absorbing plate through the transparent cover plate. The heat absorbing plate absorbs solar energy and converts it into heat energy, which is transferred to the water or heat transfer medium flowing through the heat absorbing plate.
The heated water or heat transfer medium flows into the water storage tank through the circulation pipe. Since the density of hot water is smaller than that of cold water, hot water will rise to the upper part of the water tank, while cold water will flow into the collector from the lower part of the water tank, forming a natural cycle, continuously converting solar energy into heat energy, and gradually heating the water in the water tank.
2. Electric auxiliary heating stage
When there is insufficient or no sunlight, such as cloudy days and nights, the heating effect of the solar water heater will be greatly reduced, and the electric auxiliary heating system will start at this time.
Temperature detection: The temperature sensor in the water heater will monitor the water temperature in the water tank in real time. When the water temperature is lower than the set temperature value, the temperature sensor transmits the signal to the control system.
Electric heating start: After receiving the signal, the control system starts the electric heating element. The electric heating element is usually located in the water tank, and it heats the water to the set temperature by consuming electrical energy.
Temperature control: When the water temperature reaches the set temperature, the temperature sensor transmits the signal to the control system again, and the control system turns off the electric heating element and stops heating to prevent the water temperature from being too high.
Through the combination of solar heating and electric auxiliary heating, the solar water heater with electric standby can provide a stable supply of hot water under different weather conditions.
